Danger Sound #6
Bjork, what can I say. A fabulous cover of Betty Hutton's version in 1951..
'It's oh so quiet...'
xx
Literally heart broken.
I am the most emotional person to ever grace this earth, i cry at the parts of films which aren't set up to be sad, i cried when i finished twilight - just because it was over (and now i feel like crying after that pitiful confession).
But its true, as far as the metaphorical representation of the heart being the core of all sorrow, love, hate, lust.. whatever, my heart is a complete cop out.
As of last Wednesday, however, i discovered that my heart was actually (in physical reality) being attacked by something other than my feeble and usually melo-dramatic sphere of emotion.
I was diagnosed, after waves of pretty severe chest pains (accompanied by screams, squeals, wails and any other ghastly noises i could muster from my aching lungs) with Pericarditis which is when the Pericardium (or the protective 'sack') around your heart gets infected.
Why this happened? As a secondary factor after getting tonsillitis, why can't i do anything without there being a fuck load of drama involved.
SO i've been pumped with anti-biotics and painkillers since then until today, in which i have finally been released into the outside world, drowsy and disorientated.
Scary times, hold on to your hearts home sluts.
Lots of love from my bloodbox, still ticking!
G xxx
P.s. many kisses to everybody who came and kept me company at my time of need, you helped me retain what was left of my panicked mind.

Audrey Hepburn is just a goddess, throughout the whole of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. Her elegance emanated across her career. When beauty was classic; a time when dignity was divine.
Not only this, but as i have recently found out, the late Hepburn dedicated the last 5 years of her life to humanitarian work, traveling across developing countries on behalf of UNICEF, illustrating the provokingly heartbreaking reality of children fighting to survive, fighting for their human rights.
A year after her death in 1994, The Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund was set up by her two children Sean and Luca, which supports many organisations across the world.
You can donate to the fund, or simply delve into magnificent life of Audrey on her website:

Pretty and Provocative
Christopher Kane's spring collection is a bold look of flower embroidered leather, cashmere and lace, cut and tailored into wearable creations only possible from Kane's perverted fashion mind. The season sounds oddly like 'Granny meets Biker slut', however, far from this Kane has managed to create an on trend feminine look with a rebellious edge. The collection is based, quote the man himself, 'on a delinquent teenager'.

A love letter for you.
Over the pond; in Philadelphia, is a unique project mastered by the graffiti artist, Stephen Powers. His work, known to others as ESPO (Exterior Surface Painting Outreach) is now combined with members of the Philadelphia's community and Philadelphia Mural Arts Program to create a series of murals about love, painted onto walls of buildings facing the Market elevated train line.
The project aims to have 50 painted walls for everybody to see and will provide training areas for youths and free signage for businesses. A love letter for you really is something special, unique and touching. Unfortunately for Britain whilst there are no such 'love letters' here, maybe, we'll get some for ourselves soon!
Visit their website at and admire the work for yourselves!

My, Oh, Mulberry...
Mulberry is an English brand at its most luxurious; Reaching 'Fashion classic' status with their Bayswater and Roxanne bags.Shit if you wan't British class elevated through your arm-wear then bitches you need to save your pounds, or find yourself a rich (and generous) lover, to grab you one of these babies. The Alexa bag is the Mulberry on the tippety-top of every fashionista's wishlist this season inspired by Britain's very own it girl, fashion icon - Alexa Chung. The blend of the traditional bayswater basic structuring with a vintage twist is so beautiful and so -god damn- out of reach.
Heres to wishing ladies!

I can not imagine another song, that moves me with the entirety and sincerity that Radiohead - Reckoner does. We had the honour of seeing them headlining Reading Festival last year, and it urged a few precious tears from my stony eyes.
So for this reason, here you are.

Barbour
It has been too long, and the winter months are fast approaching.
An influx of boots, fur and anything to keep a girl warm and dry without looking like a bundle of layered knit and squelching waterproof; have cropped up on my wish list.
Most desirably my want (need) for a Barbour coat has returned stronger than ever, and i can just about afford it this time - A blessing in wax form.

V FEST
Sunday 22nd August, we venture to Chelmsford in Essex to go and support our Brothers in Chase and Status at V Festival, the festival was also boasting acts such as David Guetta, Groove Armada, Kings of Leon and Florence and the Machine on this smashing Sunday.
On arrival, we qued up for about an hour and then were told we had been in the wrong que the whole time; at which point we were put in the direction of another que, although much shorter, at the end of the que was a bootalicious ghetto mumma. This lady had obviously got out the wrong side of the bed, possibly banging her head really fucking hard too - because she the picture of complete domination and rage.
We had a ball though, here are some pictures from our day!

Oh Henry!
Renowned for his flawless re-introduction of the 80's slogan t-shirt and his best friend, model royalty Agyness Deyn; Henry Holland is now a well known fashion house and thanks to his 'H! by Henry Holland' line, a well known name on the streets too.
The brilliance of Holland's H! is that as well as being sweetly swanky they are blissfully affordable. Meaning Henry Holland can be adorned by the masses, the beautiful masses.

Comme Des Garçons - Menswear 2011
The spring 2011 collection of Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garçons is based upon one theme, the skull. The singular theme opens many doors to a variety of techniques able to be used on the garments, such as; photographic prints, engravings and also appliqued onto the models themselves. The checkerboard pattern is another theme throughout the collection, which compliments the skulls with the same 'simplistic' approach; as does, the blood red accents shown on selected pieces. Kawakubo also manages to blur the lines of sexuality by creating feminine shapes combined with the bold, statemented patterns and motifs.
Not only does the entire collection cause a stir among the usual, spring trends, the hair styling does too!
Lets hope this new, darker side of menswear will makes its way onto the high street to really create a statement in the Spring trends.

Three words a girl never gets tired of hearing?
'Shoe Shop Sale'
Kurt Geiger's Carvela recently enlightened my very own shoe fetish fantasy with a massive reduction on tons of their beautiful footwear.
My guilty pleasure is the Carvela Atone, they are to die for and at a less deathly price too.
Check it out if you like your creps bold and sassy.

Johnny's Bird
Johnny's Bird; the beautifully candid website of London photographer, Moni Haworth.
Haworth successfully manages to capture personality within her photos, yet combing it with her eye for vintage style and interesting location choices such as a strip club, a London high street and skate park!
Among her many gorgeous models, she has shot 18 year old, American singer, Sky Ferreira and son of Nick Cave; Jethro Cave with model, Sophie Willing.
Definitely a website worth checking out!

DANGER SOUND
Not brand new or nothing, but i've recently been alerted to the sound of The Dead Weather Comprised of The Kill's Alison Mosshart and The White Stripe's and The Raconteur's Jack White.
This song in particular, with its super sexy, stroppy and dark video makes a girl want to go rampaging into the streets clad in leather, screaming 'Fuck Forgiveness' and 'M-A-N-I-P-U-late'.
On top of all that, it gives me serious lusting for jet black locks to thrust around in rage, so cool!
Liebe.

Guilfest
Last Sunday, a rowdy crew of Danger Daughter warriors made our way to Guilfest. The sun was beating down on stoke park and everybody was glorious, enjoying the weather and the extortionately priced pimms (i did manage to briefly pass out in the pimms tent but did move swiftly after a stern word from the security guard).
After this, I'm ashamed to say that i actually don't really remember what happened too tidily. We drifted round the festival for a bit, amidst various 'herbal' high stalls and trying on the finest Indian headdresses Surrey could offer, but it does seem a bit of a fine blur. I think i had sun stroke.
The bulk of my conscious time at Guilfest was spent in the 'Funky End Dance tent' where we came to support our brothers Chase & Status with MC Rage whom were crazily amazing. Mc Rage (a.k.a Patty!) gave Danger Daughters some loving on the mic and we even snagged a radio interview with the brand spankin' new 103.7 Kane FM: ears open kids.
